LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Officers & Committees
Baylor Alpha Phi has over 60 elected and appointed officer positions for women looking to get involved in leadership. There are positions in a wide range of areas, which means everyone has the opportunity to find the perfect place to showcase their abilities. Throughout the year, many committees will open up for members to sign up or apply for to get a taste for what having a leadership position could be like, or just to help out. Officers are appointed at the end of the fall semester and their job lasts the entire next year.
Emma Campbell, Alpha Phi's VP of New Member Educations says "the role I serve in Alpha Phi is such a unique opportunity to welcome the new members into our chapter with exciting events, and match them with bigs that will be mentors and role models in their college experience. What I love about this position is that my team and I get to share the love that we feel for this sisterhood with our new members and be a part of the beginning of that same journey for them! Other leadership positions that I’ve had the opportunity to serve in were being a part of the bid day committee and the homecoming float committee. Both of these positions allowed me to grow in my ability to not only lead and encourage others, but to work as a team in order to achieve success in large scale projects. The drive and passion that each girl I have worked under has had for Alpha Phi has inspired my desire to lead this chapter as well!"
Leadership Conference
Our chapter leadership participates in an intensive leadership training program annually at our Alpha Phi Leadership Conference, which allows these members to network with the officers of other Alpha Phi chapters and talented alumnae who share their insights based on professional and volunteer experience. This experience offers a chance for our executive officers to bond as a team and gather advice on how to lead our chapter well throughout their term.
Vice President of Finance Sawyer Greek says, "the Alpha Phi Leadership conference was such a fun and rewarding experience. I am grateful to have the chance to serve the Kappa Theta chapter, and I am so lucky to have gotten the chance to strengthen my leadership skills and learn more about Alpha Phi through the conference. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I learned so many things that I use daily in my position and will carry with me through my professional career after college."

Alpha Phi Leadership Institute
In Alpha Phi, we have the opportunity to work with the Disney Institute and participate in a three-day leadership development experience alongside Alpha Phis across the country where members can learn to lead with a purpose, create an environment of trust, and understand the impact of their actions.
Gracie Jackson of MC' 24 went to the Leadership Institute this year, and she said "my time at the Disney leadership institute was truly unforgettable! I loved getting to meet girls from all over the country and bond over our shared passion for alpha phi. It was incredible to learn all about how Disney handles leadership and all the ways to apply it back to our chapter. We got a look into how Disney creates its magic and i learned so much about how to lead with love and care. I’m so grateful to have been a part of this amazing experience!" This program will enable members to inspire excellence and provide them with effective leadership skills.

Convention
"This past June, I had the honor of attending Alpha Phi’s 74th Biennial Convention as the Kappa Theta Chapter’s Collegiate Voting Delegate. This convention, hosted in sunny Palm Springs, California, celebrated 152 years of Alpha Phi history and achievements. The Alpha Phi Constitution was amended, the new International Executive board was elected, and awards were presented to outstanding chapters and individuals across the nation and Canada! The Kappa Theta Chapter was awarded the Excellence in Financial Management award for the 2022-2024 biennium. I am so grateful to the advisors and officers these past few years who have made this happen for us!

This biennium, we also had the pleasure of celebrating a Harvard Alpha Phi alumna, Amanda Nguyen. Amanda is noted for her good works in civil rights (she championed bills to protect sexual assault survivors) and was even nominated for a Nobel Peace prize. In addition to this accomplishment, Amanda now works for Blue Origin and will be the first Vietnamese woman in space during an upcoming launch. The most memorable parts of Convention included spending time with our wonderful chapter advisor, meeting other collegiate representatives from all over the country, and seeing how Alpha Phi has impacted the lives of so many women over the course of their lifetimes! So many women are still giving back to Alpha Phi, sometimes more than 50 years after graduating college! This goes to show that Alpha Phi is for life, not just four years. From our original ten founders to the more than 270,000 members we have today, Alpha Phi is a community rich in history, unbelievable accomplishments, and endless support. Alpha Phi’s Convention was an unforgettable experience in my college journey, I am so grateful for the opportunity to surround myself with other women who love Alpha Phi like I do!" - Tyne Green
